Reconciliation Action Plan in Australia

Wipro has taken its first steps towards turning good intentions into positive actions to help build higher trust, lower prejudice and increase pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures by joining Reconciliation Australia and establishing a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). The RAP fosters Wipro’s mission to contribute to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. To realize this program’s objective, Wipro makes a conscious effort to monitor the recruitment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and partners and ensures future employment and development opportunities for this group.

Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF)

Wipro proudly supports the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation that provides scholarships and employment support to young indigenous students. Over the past 12 years, AIEF and its community of supporters have collectively extended life-changing opportunities to over 1,000 young people.

Foodbank Australia

Wipro has been actively engaged in several volunteering initiatives with Foodbank Australia, a conduit between the food industry’s surplus food and the welfare sector’s needs. Our employees regularly volunteer to support Foodbank in its mission to fight hunger. In 2019, Wipro supported five of Foodbank’s charity partners by packing over 8,000 meals. In one such exceptional CSR visit, the team packed 16 tons of food during their half-day activity.

Spirit of Wipro Run

Over the past years, our Spirit of Wipro Run (SOW Run) fundraising campaign has received mass support and contribution from stakeholders across our ecosystem of partners, clients, employees, and students in the region. As a result of this initiative, we have donated towards several beneficiaries such as Salvation Army, World Vision, Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia, Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children, and Australian Childhood Foundation, to name a few. It is truly the will and dedication of our volunteer groups that have helped Wipro give back to the community and live up to its goal of developing a sustainable society.
