We are excited to announce a three-year “Awesome Partnership” with OzHarvest, Australia’s leading food rescue organisation. This collaboration is set to significantly enhance OzHarvest’s core national food rescue program and will deliver a minimum of 120,000 additional meals annually to people in need across Australia.
In Australia, enough food is produced to feed everyone three times over, yet 3.4 million households struggled to put a meal on their table last year*. The “Awesome Partnership,” is designed to tackle this challenge over the next three years, including the rescue and delivery of a minimum of 360,000 additional meals to people in need. Additionally, Wipro will support OzHarvest in developing and implementing a robust digital strategy. This effort will build capacity within the OzHarvest team, fostering future growth and more strategic planning for upcoming projects and business development.
Craig Ridley, Head of Wipro Cares Australia, shared his vision for the partnership, “Food Waste is fuelling climate change. Our partnership with OzHarvest reflects Wipro’s commitment to sustainability and creating meaningful impact in the communities we serve. Through Wipro Cares, our dedicated community service wing, we are eager to support OzHarvest’s mission of food rescue and delivery."
James Goth, CEO of OzHarvest, "Technology plays a crucial role in how we operate and expand our reach to serve more people in need. Partnering with Wipro not only brings invaluable technical expertise but also a shared vision of making a lasting impact through our work. This partnership will enhance our capabilities, allowing us to leverage technology to innovate, optimise our operations, and ultimately rescue more food and feed more people across Australia."
“An Awesome Partnership” between Wipro and OzHarvest is a testament to the power of collaboration in addressing critical social issues. By combining Wipro’s technological expertise and commitment to sustainability with OzHarvest’s mission to combat food waste and hunger, this partnership aims to inspire both teams, connect them to a shared purpose, and create a meaningful and lasting impact in the community.
