Wipro Recognized With ISG Digital Case Study Award™ for Greater Toronto Airports Authority Modernization
Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT, BSE: 507685, NSE: WIPRO), a leading global information technology, consulting, and business process services company, today announced it won a 2021 ISG Digital Case Study Award™ for modernizing the operations of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA). GTAA operates Canada’s largest and busiest airport facility, serving 49.5 million passengers in 2018 and facilitating 50,000 jobs.
The ISG Digital Case Study Awards™ evaluates the objectives and drivers of digital transformation by reviewing standout case studies and informing ISG Research about the attributes that lead to digital success.
ISG honored only 39 initiatives with a 2021 ISG Digital Case Study Award™. Wipro was one of the select firms recognized for leveraging digital transformation to improve the customer and user experience and drive top-line revenue growth for enterprise customers.
“The events of the past year have accelerated the adoption of digital technologies and business models,” said Paul Reynolds, ISG partner and chief research officer. “Enhancing customer and user experience was the most prevalent objective across the enterprise-provider projects we examined, and the transformational role providers are playing was evidenced by the many innovative and impactful solutions they delivered.”
When airport IT systems fail, it can have widespread and cascading implications. By modernizing GTAA’s technology infrastructure, Wipro helped the airports authority reduce outages due to system failures by 85% and reduce mean time to repair by 90%. Wipro’s transformation work also enabled GTAA to incubate new technology solutions across different parts of the airports' operations through the use of AI, augmented reality and blockchain, among other technologies.
