The report evaluates top SAP S/4HANA application service providers on SAP S/4HANA revenue mix (Implementation vs management), revenue and market share growth and the mix of deployment models for their in-progress SAP S/4HANA projects.
Key findings:
- SAP S/4HANA represents a big opportunity for service providers as over 22,000 legacy SAP Business Suite customers haven’t yet acquired SAP S/4HANA, as they struggle to create the business case for the migration.
- Over 70% of SAP S/4HANA existing customers will see their software support expire at the end of 2025, forcing the need to migrate to a newer version or take on increased maintenance costs.
- “Brownfield” and hybrid deployment methods are growing, accounting for 50% of total deployments (up from 37% in 2019).
Recommendations:
To compete in the SAP S/4HANA market, service providers must:
- Offer free or low-cost automated current state assessments to highlight the potential benefits of migrating to SAP S/4HANA to customers.
- Develop software upgrade approaches that reduce the cost of and timing for upgrading to newer SAP S/4HANA versions by building or partnering for tools and accelerators.
- Provide a diverse array of deployment options (like brownfield or hybrid) tailored to address the intricacies of each client’s situation and the demand for personalized solutions for buyers.
In the report, Wipro has been recognized among top 10 service providers with revenue over $1 Billion between 2020 and 2023.
